Gigli and Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights were block busters???? In what universe?

    • Ramona

Gigli did make a heap of money. Don’t know about that other one, though.

      • spook89

Since when is $7 million for a $75 million production considered a heap of money?

    • shay

I couldn’t agree more. This list missed some of the bigger stories. Halley Berry isn’t sorry she didn’t do that terrible Gigli. Her big mistake was turning down “Speed”. Demi Moore was supposed to do “While You Were Sleeping” and Nicole Kidman was supposed to be in “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” who knows if there would have been a “Brangelina” if she had taken the gig? :o)

  • Jomiya

I could see jada playing storm in x men actually…

Looks to me like a lot of good female actors skipped taking a bullet by passing on some of these movies. And most are still major stars in their own rights1

“Block Buster” movies? Really? In almost every case, it seems like the actress made the right decision. And Sandra Bullock passed on Million Dollar Baby because she couldn;t work with the directors she wanted to? Really? She would have preferred a director other that Eastwood? That doesn’t seem plausible.

    • Ajstrike

Probably was the other way around. Eastwood is masterful director.

  • Mike

How did Katie Holmes not playing in The Dark Knight and playing in mad money not make this list

  • Zphyr Morgov

That jada chick would have made a pitiful storm…..

    • DILLIGAF98

      Because Halle didn’t?

      • Zphyr Morgov

Because she doesn’t have her face and body frame.

        • DILLIGAF98

But she does have the actual ability to act. Halle sucks. She’s overrated and she was the worst possible choice for Storm. I think the first clue should’ve been Catwoman.

          • Zphyr Morgov

Well if she does get the roll I hope she has long white hair and a african tone voice that’s the storm all. marvel fans know and love.

I kinda wish Nia Long would’ve taken the role in Charlie’s Angels. But truthfully, I couldn’t see her in it so I guess it was for the best. I know DAMN well Halle Berry doesn’t regret not taking Gigli. That movie was terrible. Jennifer Lopez wasn’t right for Hitch either. Eva Mendez is soooo much sexier.

    • Tron

Not just sexier, but the superior actress.

Julia Roberts passed on Speed also.

  • John

    Dumbest article ever

  • Silas Jones

Putting the names of the stars and the movie roles they turned down on one page would’ve been easier don’t ya think?

  • http://www.facebook.com/hellalinday Helen Lindsay

Jada Pinkett would have been a lovely Storm, just give her some heels !

  • FVDnz

Also recall Kate Hudson turning down Mary-Jane Watson for Spider-Man!! She should have accepted the role!!!!!

“14 Actressess”? I haven’t seen so much “s” since a Kardashian walked by.

    • thathappened.

      Truth!

  • NORMA

Nicole Kidman in The Brave One would have never worked. Jodie Foster played the character flawlessly, which explains her Golden Globe nomination. The film itself was a mess, but that was not to Foster’s blame. However, Terrence Howard gave a stale performance of a stock character. Regardless, the film is worth watching just for Foster’s scene stealing performance.

I respect u more for that vanessa.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_PZWDVWD6OT3UEXYN5MYFG4FZCQ C. S.

Vanessa Williams should’ve always been storm for the first x-men; wish she would’ve got first ask. She had the right eye color, too.

    • Cinderella

No one, and I mean NO ONE, could have played STORM in X-Men like Iman. Her accent and features. Hands down.

    • FVDnz

Angela Bassett too would have been amazing!

  • Robert DeLaurence

I’m sure most of these actors could care less about these movies they turned down. A bunch of dogs (the movies)..

love Julia but this was not the right role for her. kinda seen here enough.

Gigli? Has this movie been made?

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1093519953 Bonita Ringuette

I just want to know what the HELL happened to Melanie Griffiths face….Swear to God actresses who indulge in THAT much plastic surgery must have idiots advising them to do it.

Wow… and some of the roles turned down where major Oscar Winning parts.

  • http://www.facebook.com/SherrieQ Sherrie Quannea

I think the biggest uh oh was Nia Long turning down Charlie’s Angels with Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore. What was she thinking? Maybe she was holding out for a better deal? With where her career was/is the star power and potential of the movie should have been enough for her to sign on. There had to be some unknown factors… MAJOR unknown factors.

Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights ???? Natalie Portman is a smart woman.

  • Trisha Rooks Leggon

I think Sandra Bullock played the role better anyway in “The Blind Side”!
