StyleBlazer Year-End: The Most Stylish Music Videos Of 2012

Fashion truly rocks! This year, some of our favorite artists dropped fashion forward and visually stunning music videos that deserved one more nod before we usher in 2013. You’ve got to be one bad chick to file your nails on a flipped BMW like M.I.A. No one can wear a kilt or name drop labels quite like future baby daddy Kanye West. And simply, we still can’t get over the adorable Jessie Ware mini-me in her kidsize clip.

From Solange’s quirky prints to Yeezy’s suicide doors, peep the most fashionable music videos of 2012.

Solange: “Losing You”

From her bright prints and quirky moves, to the gorgeous South African gorgeous setting shot by Melina Matsoukas, Solange‘s “Losing Video” is a standout. We love the Janet Jackson “Got Til It’s Gone” vibes. Excuse us while we twirl around one more time.

M.I.A.- “Bad Girls”

From the BMW to the hip hop couture, everything about M.I.A.’s “Bad Girls” makes it one of the best of 2012. M.I.A. gave the girls a rally cry and it’s got to be our mantra for 2013.

Alicia Keys: “Girl on Fire”

A brand new beat, and a brand new do. Alicia Keys stepped out as modern day Mary Poppins in her stylishly stunning “Girl on Fire.” We love the colors and her the gorgeous silhouttes  of the superwoman, as she glows in green.

Jessie Ware: “Sweet Talk”

From the moment Jessie Ware’s adorable mini-me stepped out with her chic topknot and gold hoops, we were in “aww.” Everything about this clip is just right, and we’re looking forward to more music from this UK songstress next year.

Chrisette Michele: “Can The Cool Be Loved?”

Chrisette enlisted her friends Bilal and rapper Dunson for her latest video. Not only did she name her mixtape after her style muse, but she takes cues from Audrey Hepburn in this stylish black and white visual. We loved it so much that we did a style look by look when it dropped.

No Doubt: “Settle Down”

2012 marked the return of Gwen Stefani and Co. From the looks of their “Settle Down,” we knew they were back like they never left! The video had a sunny stylish vibe, with Harajuku girls rocking with dancers breaking down moves from the JA. And Gwen? Still a rough and tough. Nothing’s gonna knock that girl down.

Katy Perry: “Wide Awake”

Katy’s labyrinth of style was like a fantasy wonderland. From her purple hair to her superpowers, it was another standout from the hitmaker.

Rita Ora: “Radioactive”

Rita Ora was undoubtedly one of 2012’s biggest breakout stars. The fashion darling covered magazines and red carpets with her edgy street style, but could also glam up in couture gorgeously. Her latest clip “Radioactive” has the spunk and style that she’s become known for.

Rihanna: “Where Have You Been”

It’s hard to think of a Rihanna video that’s not stylish, but she was flawless in “Where Have You Been.” From the tribal prints and veils to her dancehall moves, it’s one of her best.

Rihanna: “You Da One”

She had us at leather overalls! With all of Rihanna’s music and videos, this clip from earlier in the year may have been forgotten. But it’s flirty vibe is adorable as ever.

Azealia Banks- “Liquorice”

Azealia Banks was another fashion darling of 2012. Her patriotic ensemble and her boots made for walking made us want to lasso a lad and ride a mechanical bull.

Azealia Banks: “1991”

Another one from the rap newcomer, “1991” had so many influences from the ’90s, including Madonna’s “Vogue” suits and Aaliyah’s crop tops and sleek ‘do.

Kanye West: “Mercy”

Swerve. Yeezy and his G.O.O.D Music fam took to the most stylish parking lot in the history of ever. The masks and all black everything is a time capsule for Kanye’s high fashion out of the box ensembles this year. No more suicides on the tour bus though. Baby on board.

Kanye West: “White Dress”

This one may have slipped under the radar, but one of Kanye’s most beautiful pieces doesn’t star KimYe or Lamborghini’s. Directed by Dan the Man, the visuals for “White Dress” is a virtual world tour that features art and monuments. The classic Kanye production doesn’t hurt either.

Lana Del Rey: “National Anthem”

A love story for the new age. It’s hard to find a video more exquisite than Lana Del Rey’s “National Anthem.” The modern twist on a tragic love story was stylish, and was retro and modern at the same time. A$AP Rocky made one dapper President. A$AP for 2016?
