In an endearing new short film, 21-year-old designer Mathieu Mirano reintroduces audiences to his Spring 2013 RTW collection for which dinosaurs were the inspiration. Titled “Evolution,” the video features flowing, wind blown chiffon gowns animated by a model in motion, who the designer describes as “a female scientist [who] experiments on the remains of ancient reptilians, their DNA mix, transforming her into the very creature that she is studying.” This autogenous human mixed with animal has detailings of beetle wings that resemble scales, mesh tubing like externalized animal vertebrate, and burnt sequins creating a colorful extra layer of texture.
