Confusion Over Beyonce Lip-Syncing
Performing the National Anthem in front of the president and the nation is no small thing and it would appear that Beyonce felt the pressure – deciding to lip sync at Barack Obama’s inauguration ceremony rather than sing live.
According to reports the pop star opted to use a pre-recorded version of The Star-Spangled Banner at the last minute.
However, she made sure to give a very convincing ‘live’ performance – even pulling out her earpiece partway through as though she was having trouble with it.
By contrast, Kelly Clarkson flew in several days earlier- and performed live rather than using the pre-recorded track that she made with the band.
