We can always count on Maria Grazia and Pierpaolo Piccioli to deliver the finest, chicest, most delicate garments in fashion, and that’s exactly what was done for the Valentino spring 2013 couture collection. The duo supplied notes to the audience on the making of the collection, which was filled with layered organza, embroidered butterflies and birds, tulle and piping.

One can only imagine the hard work it takes to look fabulous, but we can tell you it took a whopping 500 hours of hand-rolling  to produce the piping and 850 hours to embroider one skirt and jacket. We’re unsure of the number of people it took to produce such a strong collection, but we’re certain that every lace flower was in place, the hand-painted organza was neatly finished and every gown was delicately stitch to perfection. Pure magic.
