After taking a break from the runway, Tom Ford decided to come back to the catwalk to showcase his fall 2013 collection during London Fashion Week. According to Style.com, the designer promised his guests a cross-cultural, multi-ethnic collection. Now, one can argue that the mixed prints, fur, colorful thigh-high boots, and zebra sandals does not represent cross-cultural ethnicity. Though others can argue the animal print represents African culture and the beading on skirts, pants and jackets represents Middle Eastern culture. Whether you believe Ford took inspiration from other cultures or not, one thing is for sure—he blew everyone away with this catwalk comeback. No one expected lace, leopard print, zebra print, and fur in one look; nor did they expect colorful furs paired with floral-embroidered or houndstooth printed thigh-high boots. In our eyes, the collection is a win as each print, texture and style of garment flows with everything it’s paired with.
Take a look and let us know if you see the ethnic inspiration, or just another print party.
