It’s no secret the over the past five years, Sean John has suffered from a rough economy and fainting customer base. Thank God for comebacks. The company announced the hiring of Vincent Panzanella as vice president of marketing and Dean Arcuri as vice president of creative direction.
Panzanella comes from Tommy Hilfiger where he served as senior director of marketing. In his new role, he’ll be planning events, strategic partnerships and brand development. Arcuri who will be managing the visual identity of the brand, previously worked as the marketing director at Ralph Lauren.
With these two major additions to the company, they hope to plan a resurgence into the market. As WWD noted, their sales dropped from $525 million in 2008 to $350 million in 2012. “I’m confident they will both play critical roles as we continue Sean John’s growth and work to re-energize the brand through dynamic new marketing initiatives and the creation of a strong visual identity in the media, at retail and online,” said Sean John president Jeff Tweedy.
