Is it just us, or has Stella McCartney taken this menswear thing a little too far? We understand pantsuits, ties, oxfords and even Rihanna for River Island’s two-tone baggy jeans, but there has to be a limit somewhere. Many designers have successfully mixed menswear into women’s collections while still preserving a feminine touch to the trend, but McCartney might not have done that so well this time around. The designer’s fall 2013 collection included pinstripe men’s coats paired over baggy pants, unstructured dresses, floppy skirts and a couple of oversized tartan coats. It’s one thing to go oversized, but it’s another to have the clothes dangling off of the models so much that it doesn’t look appealing. The collection was saved by a black jacquard, strapless, bustier dress with a slit going up the thigh that screamed ‘I’m still a girl.’
Take a look at McCartney’s collection below and let us know if you think its man enough, or made for a man.
