It’s no surprise that the corporate fashion world is an exclusive club, but Forbes’ new list of ‘2013 Fashion Billionaires’ shows that the disparity falls on African-Americans and women… heavily.

The business publication put together the 17 most successful billionaires raking in money from fashion. Topping the list is Amancio Ortega, the self-made Spanish businessman who runs Zara. Also featured is Ralph Lauren, Stefan Persson of H&M and Bernard Arnault of Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy.

What’s interesting is that women dominate the market in fashion consumerism but are still not present in executive levels– with only three women featured on the list. What’s also interesting is that– according to Nielsen– African-Americans will hold $1.1 trillion dollars in buying power by 2015, but not one of the billionaires is black.

So, why are we still underrepresented in the corporate fashion world?
