Get The Beauty Look: Zoe Saldana’s 1920s-Inspired Classic Look


We covered Zoe Saldana’s stunning Vionnet black and white gown she sported to the Star Trek into Darkness movie premiere in London a few days ago, but we were having flashbacks on how amazing she looked and couldn’t help but delve in deeper. If you thought her makeup was flawless as well, then you’ll want to keep reading to find out how her makeup artist Vera Steimberg for Laura Mercier created the look. Wondering first how Vera decided on the makeup? Vera admits that she drew inspiration from the dress Zoe wore and decided to create a 1920s-inspired beauty look. Learn how to recreate Zoe Saldana’s look yourself with these tips:

Get her bold, red lips

Steimberg applied Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Portofino Red ($26) to Saldana’s lips to draw all attention to her pout, giving her a “bright, yet elegant final look.”

Get her soft eye makeup look

First, Steimberg applied a dark brown eyeliner on the lash line using the an eyeliner brush. Next, she applied a copper eyeshadow over the entire eyelid and then applied a violet eyeshadow to the outer corners of Saldana’s eyes. Steimberg added the final touch of glamour by applying multiple coats of Laura Mercier Faux Lash Mascara in Black ($24) to the top and bottom lashes.

Get her natural, flawless skin

First, Steimberg covered imperfections using concealer which gave Saldana a natural look. Next, she lightly dusted illuminating powder to set the concealer. Lastly, Steimberg applied a warm rose blush to the apples of the cheeks and layered Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Spiced Cider ($24) on top to give the cheeks more color.
