War Of The Fashion Worlds: Miuccia Prada Will Not Show Miu Miu In Milan

Giorgio Armani has been leading the charge for Italian brands to get back to their roots and start hosting runway shows solely in Milan, but Miu Miu is insistent on marching to the beat of their own drummer—a French drummer to be exact.  According to Vogue News, Italy’s leading fashion Juggernauts are working to re-establish Milan as the fashion capital, which means rejuvenating Milan Fashion Week.  However, Italian brand Miu Miu will continue to show during Paris Fashion Week, where it has had a presence since 2006. Prada Group CEO Patrizio Bert claims it is a matter of timing as Prada shows in Milan, thereby making it “materially impossible to create two shows a couple of days apart.”  He insisted, “if there were another show a week later [Miu Miu would show] there.”  According to Vogue News, the sentiments are also that of the designer, Miuccia Prada, as she said “it’s the way we work, it’s impossible. Nobody does it.”

StyleBlazers, should Miu Miu and other Italian brands return to showing during Milan Fashion Week?
