There are a lot of things we remember about college (and some things that we wish we didn’t) like Adidas slippers—the unofficial footwear of collegiate athletes. But Adidas slippers, specifically the shower slides, have flopped onto the fashion scene. Although our initial reaction was mingle with a tad bit of horror, we weren’t too surprised. After all, they did have their moment in the 90’s and the 90’s are having a moment now. The shower slides recently appeared in an Aitken Jolly for B Magazine photo shoot (pictured above), as well as the Nonoo’s Resort 2014 presentation. (We’re firm believers that three makes a trend. but we are not quite ready to list Amanda Bynes walking the streets of NYC in her Adidas shower slides as more evidence.) However, we will accept that it is an extension of the athletic sneaker trend, as NY based stylist Danielle Nachmani pointed out to Fashionista, falling in line with the clean, minimalist lines that we’ve been seeing, as well as the black and white trend. But if you are not quite ready to don your shower shoes outdoor, a la Amanda Bynes (or any co-ed for that matter), we’ve got a solution.

Rick Owen’s slides and flip flops has a minimal design like the Adidas slides. The leather straps with spaces between gives the appearance of linear lines.
