Flatforms—which we like to think of as the love child of a wedge and a flat—first marched their way into our lives on the spring 2011 runways of Derek Lam, Vena Cava and Prada. (Confession: we loved the Prada creepers.) Since then they’ve stuck around and even increased their presence this year, thanks in part to Miuccia Prada’s amazing death defying pair. So it occurred to us that since they are here to stay, at least for a while, it’s about time we give you the do’s and dont’s of wearing flatforms, because anything that can double as a blunt object needs rules.
Check out our 4 do’s and dont’s to rocking flatforms.
Do avoid footbeds that are too flat. The foot naturally flexes when we walk, standing on a flat 3 inch block would prevent it from bending, making them difficult to walk in.
