Maybe you can’t buy love or a happy marriage, but if the relationship goes south you just may have to pay for it! After years of marriage these celebs had to fork over big bucks to their spouses in their divorce settlement. We all dream of marrying a celebrity one day but it may be more profitable to divorce one…not that we’re condoning that. Check out the 15 most expensive celebrity divorce settlements.

James Cameron & Linda Hamilton

Settlement: $50 million

James Cameron paid ex-wife actress Linda Hamilton an estimated $50 million in their divorce settlement. The couple began dating in 1991 after meeting on Terminator, had a daughter in 1993 and married in 1997. The couple separated just eight months in. They announced their divorce shortly after Titanic’s Oscar wins, though it wouldn’t be official until 1999. Hamilton blamed the cause of the divorce on Cameron’s blind devotion to film and his affair with now-current wife/actress Suzy Amis. The latter reason might help explain the pretty penny Hamilton got to pocket.

Country music man Kenny Rogers and his wife Marianne Rogers divorced in 1993 after 16 years of marriage to the tune of a $60 million settlement.

Fraiser actor Kelsey Grammer and  his former Playboy model ex-wife Camille Grammer settled their very bitter and very public divorce battle with $60 million. It’s a hefty price but Grammer was most likely ecstatic to be out of a marriage he publicly compared to prison. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans got to watch part of Camille’s marital distress play out on the show in 2010.

The handsome Kevin Costner paid wife of 16 years Cindy Silva $80 million in their divorce settlement. The couple married back in 1975 after meeting in college. They had three children together over that time period but eventually divorced in 1994.

After 21 years of marriage, Harrison Ford and Oscar-nominated screenwriter Melissa Mathison decided to part ways. Ford paid $85 million upon their divorce in 2004.

Men aren’t the only ones required to fork over the dough in a divorce. If the woman happens to be the higher earner, she is responsible for paying in the divorce settlement. In this case, the bigger breadwinner was Madonna, and the iconic singer reportedly paid her ex-husband director Guy Ritchie as much as $92 million.

Jocelyn is famous for the enumerable plastic surgeries altering her appearance to resemble a cat in order to please her ex-hubby who had a fondness for big cats. Upon the couple’s 1999 divorce Alec Wildenstein forked over $2.5 billion and an additional $100 million each year for 13 years. There was one stipulation from the judge though: she could not use any alimony payments for further cosmetic surgery.
