We previously told you of H&M’s plan to dominate the U.S market and it is coming to pass—starting with NYC. The mega-brand of fast fashion is set to convert its 34th street location, which sits at the corner of 7th Ave, into a giant mecca for fast fashion seekers. In clear competition with that other store that takes up an entire city block, aka Macys, H&M 2.0—as we will affectionately call it—will boast four levels, 63k sq feet, a custom designed modern glass façade, and a 35 ft high atrium on the second level. The new and improved flagship will carry all of the H&M collections, which includes ladies, men’s, children, H&M Sport, H&M Mama, H&M+, H&M Home, as well as accessories and cosmetics.
The mega-store will open fall 2014. There is no word yet as to whether the existing 34th street locations will remain open.
If Herald Square is not your scene and you are less than enthusiastic then cheer up and head over to 4 Times Square, as H&M plans to open a new store there by the end of 2013. 5th Avenue and 48th street will also see a new location by Spring 2014.
