Once again, Tyra Banks dispels any thoughts that modeling is an easy endeavor. The supermodel/entrepreneur transformed into 15 recognizable faces for a new photoshoot with fashion photographer, Udo Spreitzenbarth that left us in shock.
Titled, “Tyra Banks Presents: 15,” the model replicates iconic photos of fellow models and friends. She was approached about working with NYC-based Spreitzenbarth in 2012 and explained her interest in using other women as the inspiration behind the shoot. “I’ve put my own spin on #NYFW w/ a photo tribute to some of the fiercest #SuperModels ever,” Banks said on her Google+ page. “Unretouched. Real. Raw.”
Involved in the shoot was creative director Ty-Ron Mayes, hairstylist Sher Rae Tucker and makeup artist Valente Frazier. While she doesn’t go into detail about how long each shot took to create, Banks does note that her Cara Delevingne look (above and below) took four hours of makeup and her Kate Moss look required her to hide her serious curves.
While the series is a bit creepy, it’s also shows the breathe of Banks talent in her ability to nab the exact facial expressions of a wide variety of women. And hey, isn’t imitation the highest form of flattery?
