Runway Recap: Tom Ford’s Spring 2014 Collection Is For The Strong Powerful Woman

main copy

There’s nothing better than showing off the bare necessities during the warmer seasons, and Tom Ford did just that with his seductive Spring 2014 collection! His second season back on the runway featured shorter proportions, while capturing the essence of the “strong powerful woman.”

In a low lit room lined with mirrored walls, Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Games” soundtrack played as models walked down the runway in spidery lace, quilted leather minis, multicolored metallic mosaic embroideries, chevron patterns and sharp-shouldered suits. Except for a stunning brown cocoon leather jacket and two cropped fur pieces, Ford’s clothes were mostly bound to the body (even a hot pair of thigh-high boots laced up like a corset!)

The collection represented what Tom Ford has always stood for since his Gucci-designing days— the meshing of a fierce vision of leather and glittery-armored sexuality. Where there were levels of extremity (a jeweled tunic and legging-tight pant pair), there were also moments of restraint (high-waist pants and black tuxedos).

Check out these looks from Ford’s Spring ’14 collection to see if you’ve ‘got the power’ to rock one of his pieces.

Of there are no black models walking in his show I will not buy!!! Racsim on the runway. Do not patronize designers who refuse to use black models. Victoria Beckham is one of them. Boycott that skinny pig nosed beyotch.

lol@pig nose beyotch..I love tom ford collection and he definitely uses black, Asian, and Latina models in his shows, but i agree with racism on the runway, and in advertising as well.
