Designer Peter Dundas introduced Emilio Pucci’s spring 2014 collection at the intersection of sporty and sultry during Milan Fashion Week this past weekend. From a mesh top paired with track pants to a metallic silver parka worn over a one-piece neoprene swimsuit, there was a whole lot of room for imagination. Imagine going to a 80’s disco in a printed dress complete with a gold medallion-plated belt, paying homage to Africa in a Masai-beaded jumpsuit, or working out in a hip-hop class in haute couture athletic shorts. (And that’s only a fraction of the collection.) Overall, we saw a hip-hop, downtown vibe that we normally don’t spot on the runway but it was a great divergence from the usual.
