Every supernova knows when it’s time to go you have to go out with the biggest bang, and that is exactly the way Marco Zanini  left the house of Marcel Rochas after showing his final collection in Paris. In the gilded city of lights, the designer’s final collection was a mixture of opulence and delicate femininity that was masterfully woven with whimsy.  It was this juxtaposition, found throughout the entire show, that made for such an interesting and fun collection.  The pieces, for the most part, were classic, sometimes simple silhouettes—knee grazing pencil skirts, a drop-waist shift dress, or the ankle skimming pleated numbers.  But it was the clean lines and classic cuts that played nicely against the dramatic embellishments like the long crystal beaded necklaces, crystal studded fabrics, shimmering pastel metallic overcoats and iridescent rose appliques.  The Rochas Spring 2014 collection, with its air of ladylike sophistication, was grounded by the whimsy of feathery flats and the controlled chaos of ‘haywire’ hair.

Breeze through these looks from Zanini’s final collection for Rochas.
