Style Guide: The Do’s And Don’ts Of Wearing Fall Pink (For The Pink Averse)

fall 2013 runway pink fashion

The runways spoke and the color du jour for Fall 2013 is Pink! But not just any pink, sweet, soft, pastel shades of pink. Chances are, if you didn’t squeal and took a mental count of all the pink pieces you already own, then you are probably experiencing a terrifying flashback from when you were five. But this won’t be anything like wearing those frilly pink dresses with matching ribbons in your hair. Although the season’s color is ultra feminine, the tone set by designers was a mixture of modern edge and sophistication.

We’ve taken notes from the Carven, Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu, and Mulberry runways for the do’s and don’ts of wearing fall pink.

Do…

Do find the right shade. Designers sent a myriad of pink down the runway, so find a shade that best complements your skin tone and own it—be it a bright pink, seen at Cédric Charlier and DKNY or a more subtle dusty pink like at Mulberry.
