Fashion Week Spring 2014 wasn’t the only thing we said goodbye to yesterday. The fashion industry also wished Marc Jacobs a farewell at the finale of his last Louis Vuitton collection. There was speculation he was leaving the fashion house after 16 years and there at the show it was confirmed. Not only did the show’s set up feature props from previous shows such as the carousel, fountain, elevators and escalators, the collection was completely black as he mourned his departure. He drew inspiration from showgirls and each model wore a Stephen Jones-designed headpiece that featured ostrich feathers. The clothes were embellished with beads, crystals, or feathers. In short, Jacobs knows how to make an exit, leaving giant shoes to be filled. From Louis Vuitton’s feathers to Zadig & Voltaire’s fringes, and more animal inspired—3-dimensional and flat—details showed up and showed out for the final day of Paris Fashion Week.
Check out all the shows that helped us bid this season’s fashion month adieu.
We’re wondering who would be the first to wear this Louis Vuitton ostrich-embossed leather biker jacket filled with beading and embellishments. Oh, the envy.
