After months of a back and forth bidding war, Juicy Couture has been sold for $195 million to Authentic Brands Group. The label was owned by Fifth & Pacific, who is said to be focusing on Kate Spade that relaunched their Saturday lifestyle brand a year ago.
What’s interesting is the low price the brand was sold for, having been very popular a decade ago with their velour two-piece sets. Founders, Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor, were said to be interested in buying back the brand that they sold to Fifth & Pacific, but for whatever reason didn’t.
At the end of the day, the hope is that the new sale will result in a revived image for the teen-geared company.
