The only time we’ve heard St. Louise and fashion used within the same context was during Sex and The City 2. And the only time we’ve heard the word chess and fashion referred to in the same sentence was…actually, never. However the St. Louise’s World Chess Hall of Fame has changed that with their latest exhibit.
Their current exhibition, A Queen Within: Adorned Archetypes, Fashion and Chess, explores the archetypes of a queen through works from “radical” and “experimental designers”. Garments from iconic fashion houses such as Alexander McQueen, Gucci, Jean Paul Gaultier, Maison Martin Margiela, Viktor & Rolf, and others will be featured to “highlight the queen archetypes in fashion and identify relationships with the cultural collective unconscious and traditions of storytelling.”
The exhibit is currently open and will run through April 18, 2014.
