Miley Cyrus poses in a jewel encrusted sheer dress from Forever Unique for the final 2013 issue of Cosmopolitan. In the spread, shot by Peter Pedonomou, the singer is more covered up than we’ve seen her in a while. Guess that’s our holiday gift from her..
Cyrus talks about ending her twerk-fest, relationship with Liam Liam Hemsworth and her infamous VMA performance in the interview. To our surprise, the girl who was quick to exploit the black culture is sick of being a puppet who is constantly being asked to stick out her tongue and gyrate for audiences.
On her VMA performance: “When people started complaining about the awards show, I was like, ‘Have you never seen the f**king video?’ And what if I hadn’t done that performance? The VMAs would have been bad. They would have been missing something. The show was kind of making fun of how serious the pop industry is.”
On being single for the first time in years: “I need to treat my music like a relationship – give it my time and all the attention it deserves – and that’s my main love right now. This is the best time of my life. I’m not going to look back on it and be like, ‘I wish I hadn’t been dwelling over a breakup,’ you know? Because that’s not what God wants my life to be about right now. God wants my life to be about being successful and being happy and blessing other people and being blessed.”
On support from other celebrities: “Kanye West is one of those people, and even Katy Perry has been so cool. It’s easy for Kanye to support me because we’re in totally separate lanes of competition, but for Katy to say that she appreciates what I’m really doing for the pop industry, that keeps you going.”
If intrigued, pick up the issue on Nov 5.
