Where’s Joan Rivers? Is the Fashion Police on this yet? Seems like we’ve got another case of Chick Stole My Look. In the most recent issue of The Wall Street Journal Magazine, Gisele Bündchen graced the cover and posted for a spread inside alongside WSJ’s Innovators of the Year, Daft Punk. The photos, shot by Terry Richardson, look remarkably similar to a spread in July’s Vogue where Karlie Kloss posed with the dynamic duo.
Gisele rocks a sheer navy Atelier Versace jumpsuit, while Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo sport extra sparkly blazers to match their respective helmets– seemingly the same ones they wore in the Vogue shoots. MTV Style points out another common thread between the two shoots–Thomas and Guy wore Saint Laurent each time. We’d like to think the artists just know what brands they like to wear, rather than the alternative possibility that someone at WSJ is truly lacking in wardrobe creativity.
We can say that the themes of the two shoots differ though. In the WSJ, Gisele is clad in a variety of scantily-clad,”Get Lucky”-ready outfits, while Karlie’s Vogue shoot walked the straight line of elegant, ladylike, and mostly covered up. Above Gisele wears a Gaultier Paris blouse and stockings, Gianvito Rossi pumps, and a Harry Winston bracelet. Karlie is glad completely in Givenchy.
All in all, both models look gorgeous, as usual. But similarities between these two shoots that were published within six months of each other is a bit hard to ignore.
