As the temperature starts to drop, it’s easy to get stuck in a cold weather fashion rut. And before you know it, you’re wearing head-to-toe black everyday. Switch things up this season with winter florals. We traditionally equate florals with spring and summer, but plenty of designers broke tradition by offering us a bouquets worth of flowers. But note, unlike the blooms of spring, fall’s offerings were dark, moody and teetered on the edge of goth. The trick to pulling off the trend is to look for pieces with botanicals that are set against a dark background, like Givenchy’s peony pieces. Also, don’t discount brighter petals. As seen at Vera Wang and Christopher Kane, once set against a dark backdrop, they are both moody and vibrant.
