Google’s 2013 zeitgeist is in, and as far as fashion searches are concerned, it has one thing to say: Versace, Versace, Versace. The zeitgest is Google’s annual tally of what stans were Googling over the past year–from the most-searched celeb (Miley) to the most-searched beer (Blue Moon) to most-searched dance moves (Gangnam Style).
This year the host of high-end fashion brands on the list was led by Versace in the number one spot. The Versace search traffic peaked over the summer in June and a high number of related searches included Drake. (No surprise there.) But Drake’s not the only celebrity to contribute to Versace’s success–both M.I.A. and Lady Gaga teamed up with the brand this year on a fashion line and advertising campaign, respectively. And then there was that Lifetime movie…
