We first met Tabii Just at a Made-Local NYC event last year, featuring designers who produce their merchandise right here in New York. We were instantly smitten with her richly colored, printed silk pieces and zero-waste design policy. So we weren’t too surprised to see her on the line-up for Manufacture New York’s Launch NYC Fall 2014 runways.
Just’s collection stayed true to her aesthetic with a lot of play with color, and the presence of prints. Her inspiration for fall was the square. “Concepts and patterns return to the restrictions of this basic shape. The challenge was embraced as a guideline, rather than a limitation.” And so the patterns, cuts and prints took form in a looks like a tubular shift dress, boxy crop top and trapeze skirt and geometric print top.
