On Sunday March 2, the Hollywood set will gather in the Dolby Theater for the 86th annual Academy Awards. With Ellen Degeneres presiding as the host for the night, the Oscars represents the highest point of the awards show season, and, coincidentally, one of the highest points of red carpet events year round (the Cannes Film Festival may be the only contender for red carpet anticipation).
Angelina Jolie, Amy Adams, Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Lawrence, Kerry Washington, Lupita Nyong’o, and Naomie Harris are all slated to attend, so this year’s red carpet is sure to be one of the best yet.
In anticipation, check out some of our favorite Oscar’s red carpet moments from years past. Did we miss one of your favorites? Let us know in the comments!
“Monster’s Ball” actress Halle Berry wore an Elie Saab gown in 2002 at the Oscars.
With her “Dreamgirls” toned body, Beyonce wore a velvet Versace gown to the 2005 Academy Awards.
In 2006, Jada Pinkett-Smith turned up in a blue Roberto Cavalli gown with a sweetheart neckline.
Grecian references were readily apparent in Kate Winslet’s 2007 Valentino gown.
