This week for Up & Comers we’re going back to Macy’s Chicago Fashion Incubator once again to showcase another designer in residency. We previously introduced you to Shelby Steiner, and this week we have another fellow resident, designer Lagi Nadeau. She has already had a ton of success with her namesake label having shown at both Chicago’s and Nashville’s Fashion Weeks and dressing Martine Reardon, Macy’s Chief Marketing Officer for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Red Dress Collection celebrity runway show.
Lagi was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan but attended the Fashion Institue of Technology in New York where she lived for 5 years learning the tools of the trade, “I learned a lot from working in the industry and as I discovered my voice as a designer and what I stand for,” she says. “I think it was a natural shift towards realizing that my dream is to launch my own label. My line LAGI NADEAU focuses on high quality, authentic pieces for women who have a strong sense of self and style. My customer is my inspiration and I keep her in mind at all times so that I design pieces that fit into her lifestyle.”
