April is shaping up to be a rough month for high-end luxury boutiques across the pond. Mere days after Chanel’s London Brompton Road location was raided by robbers, Céline and Dior also fell victim to capers. According to Fashionista, on Thursday morning thieves gained entry to the Céline boutique on Rue François 1er– via the stockroom– and made off with 50,000€, or $69, 220 at current exchange, in cash.
Just a day prior to, Dior’s Paris flagship was also robbed. According to Women Wear Daily, just before opening hours two masked men made their way into the Dior venue located on Rue Jean-Goujon– behind the couture brand’s flagship on Avenue Montaigne– and “made away with a number of bags and shoes, whose value was estimated at less than 100,000 euros, or $137,516 at current exchange.”
