Samuel L. Jackson, One for the Boys founder Sofia Davis, Colin Firth
Update: Last night in London, Samuel L. Jackson successfully hosted his fashion ball at the Natural History Museum under the gaze of a giant dinosaur. Along with fellow actors like Jeremy Piven, Jesse Metcalfe, and Luke Evans, as well as models David Gandy and Oliver Cheshire, Jackson walked the runway to promote cancer awareness on behalf of One for the Boys charity. “The fact is, each year, more women are diagnosed with cancer but more men die from it because we’re too dumb and too macho to talk about it. I get everything checked, all the time, I want to know what’s going on with my body. We can’t be afraid of the information,” Jackson told Women’s Wear Daily. Surprisingly, Jackson didn’t wear a hat to last night’s festivities.
You know how some people feel about shoes–that they have to have the perfect pair to match each and every outfit imaginable? Samuel L. Jackson seems to feel that way about hats; the man always, and we mean always, matches his hat to his outfit. Even though he’s not always in the most trendy of ensembles, Jackson clearly cares about fashion in his own way. And while it was a bit unusual to hear that the actor will be hosting a fashion ball in London next month, we weren’t completely blown out of the water.
Women’s Wear Daily reports that the fashion ball, to be held on the first day of the London Collections: Men on June 15, is a benefit for One for the Boys–an organization that raises awareness and funds to educate men about the different types of cancers that can affect them. Samuel L. Jackson is the chairman.
During the event, Jackson is set to transform from chairman into model, and will walk the runway with fellow actors Simon Pegg, Luke Evans, Tom Hiddleston, and David Walliams in various looks from Fendi, Alexander McQueen, and Y-3. No word yet on whether he’ll be sporting a hat on the runway, but if he does, we know the coordination will be on point, as always.
