Spotted: Solange Knowles Rocks High-Tip Afro & Daring Fashion for February Issue of InStyle (Full Spread Inside)

Since signing her deal with NEXT Model Management, Solange has been busy at work all over the fashion world. After strutting down the runway in Milan at the Alberta Ferretti Pre-Fall show, she did the Oyster Magazine shoot. Solange’s latest piece of work is a spread in InStyle Magazine’s February issue. She posted the pictures on her blog, aptly titled My Damn Blog. Rocking a tightly cropped high-tip fro, Solange is styled in daring color combos and intense prints.

Her love for clashing prints with an Afro-centric vibe is so one-of-a-kind that only she can pull if off this effortlessly. In her close up pic you can see the natural makeup Solange usually opts for, with just a hint of color on her lips and mascara for longer lashes.

She’s been steadily racking up fashion points with all of these gigs and we’re certain to see a ton of her as the fashion season kicks into high gear with New York Fashion Week just around the corner. By the look of things, Solange plans on sitting on top of the style throne in 2012. And we’re not mad one bit!

People say she only got where she is because of because of Beyonce but you have to admit if she were ugly she couldn’t be a model no matter who her sister is. I think she’s been on the fly style tip for years now….

Solange is beautiful no matter who her sister is. Don’t you love natural hair it is so flexible.

I absolutely adore her, she is so unique & does not conform to every requirements of beauty

It’s mad how she has gone the complete opposite way with her hair compared to her sister. I love how confident she is with her look. I feel like I have more in common with Solange than Beyonce.

    who cares

Just as Beyonce would not be known if not for Destiny’s Child. Do not skid yourself people, Solange would not be spoken of – if not for Beyonce.  Get yourselves a clue.

That maybe so, but as far as I’m concerned Solange is a star in her own right. She could’ve easily kept tightly held onto Beyonce’s coat tails, but she let go a long time ago and has moved up and away from her sister’s spotlight in order to shine on her own.

Im so glad that Solange is becoming her own person and not just the sister of. Work it Solange!!

Love love love her!  She sets her own style instead of being like everyone else.  I do like B, but I’m more of a Solange fan because she stands out from the crowd.

Such is life,  she is Beyonce’s sister. She didn’t ask for that so, so what if she gets alot of play because of that. If you were in her shoes and your mortgage had to be paid and your baby provided for and you didn’t want to live off of your sister’s money, you’d probably be glad for the extra hype too. I’m just sayin’… haters, please choose to work with another emotion that challenges you to think… it would be so refreshng.

Go Solange, you are beautiful AND blessed to be Bey’s sister and visa-versa.  I admire anyone who lives their life being their own personal best. Haters (looking back) see you later.

I like her clothing style but I don’t like some of her hair styles, some of them look like she went to sleep and woke with sides all flat and need to comb it out some. It’s nothing wrong with natural look, it’s just the way you wear it or groom it I guess.
