There’s a luxury that comes with being a creative mind with a solid core of supporters. Capricorn Clark is well aware of this, as she¬†undertakes her most bold endeavor.

The former Global Brand and Viral Marketing Director for Sean John Enterprises launched her first fashion line geared to an edgy demographic. Having worked in the urban space for a decade, she was keen on what the industry lacked, and its strengths.

Called “Owners,” Clark currently offers limited edition t-shirts and a lace dress for sale by order. She’s also tapped muse and best friend, Lauren London to serve as the face of the brand.

In an exclusive interview with StyleBlazer, Clark talks about what she’s been up to since her Bad Boy days and why she went into fashion design.

On what she’s been up to in the years since parting ways with Sean John: “I left Sean John long before I left Bad Boy. I stayed on [the team] for five more years as Global Brand Director for Sean Combs Enterprises. I also creative directed the Dirty Money album and worked along side Chris Lighty overseeing management duties.”

On what urban fashion needs: “I think fashion in general needs more classic and authentically inspired clothes. The detail that a brand like Levi’s puts into the product should blanket the industry. I think we need more of that overall aesthetic. A return to quality. Urban brands are very ‘one and done’ these days– the clothes don’t last.”
