Kerry Washington is no stranger to the cover of magazines, and now she’s the cover girl for the March 2012 issue of Essence. But this isn’t just any cover. This is the Black Women in Hollywood issue.
In the cover article Kerry talks about her upcoming role on the ABC show Scandal, and the role black women play now in entertainment. ”I think it’s a really special time to be a woman of color in this business. The landscape of who has the power is changing. We are in more influential positions and are able to have a say in the stories that are told,” she explains.
We can’t wait to get our hands on the issue when it hits newsstands on February 23, but in the meantime we can just salivate over the cover. Kerry is the picture of glamour in a flowing ivory gown, and of course her accessories are just as fly, with a statement necklace and bold cocktail ring.
