I was born and raised in a western country, when I was young I was always taught about Islam. As I grew up it became hard for me to practice or even discuss my religion without being labelled.

Honestly having lived and drank/partied like we do in the west, I value my religion and it’s teaching even more than ever. In the Qu’ran it says, everything good in your life comes from Allah (swt) [God], and everything bad in you’re life is a manifestation of yourself [ego]. I always thought that seemed harsh as a kid, but now as an adult I 100% know it to be true, everything in my life that has gone wrong is often a result of my weak ego.

Islam is not a religion it’s a way of life people everywhere in the world practice. Mecca is the most beautiful place in the world, nothing can ever duplicate it.

Agreed . Islam is a very beautiful religion and a way of life. I’m not perfect nor is anyone perfect. When I was younger I didn’t understand why my parents expected me to follow. Until I learned to practice and learn on my own did it become a beautiful way of life.

Sad about the intense violence against women in every Islamic community.
