Alicia Keys will be honoring Givenchy's creative director Riccardo Tisci at her Black Ball formally for, "inspiring new and compassionate ways of thinking through his bold and unapologetic voice in challenging discrimination, while breaking cultural barriers in the fashion industry."
In layman's terms, Tisci makes a concerned effort to highlight black beauty in his work. Keys, Erykah Badu, Ciara-- just a few of the women he's worked with in his time with French fashion house.
Key's Black Ball raises money for Keep a Child Alive, her nonprofit organization that raises funds for youths in the fight against AIDS. In it's 11th year, the event is held at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York and has raised more than $22.6 million for children and families affected by HIV.
