Riccardo Tisci’s latest collection for Givenchy stuck to the basics but is anything but boring.
Thanks to the layering capability of most of the collection, you can take the sleek and sophisticated collection from day to night. While the pieces might look simple, there is an artistry behind even the simplest top coat. What appears to be polka dots are actually tiny, rubberized crosses on chiffon and Swaroski crystals are evenly spaced on the full-length floral gown.
According to Style.com, the lacquered python skirt required more than 60 hours of workmanship.
The collection as a whole flows seamlessly from color-blocking panels to blurred floral prints of cherry blossoms and baby’s breaths to pleated leathers and furs. The lookbook ends on a high note, with a evening gown with a lace bodice and sequined skirt.
A favorite of Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and Beyonce, the Givenchy Pre-Fall collection is made for on-the-go women who need clothes than can transition from work to dinner date. Plus, we can already see the Kimye in the matching camel coats.
Another highlight of the collection that we love is the menswear looks for women, including a white button-up blouse accented with a long chiffon sash to give the appearance of a necktie.
