Joseph Altuzarra sells sensuality in the most luxurious form. On his Fall 2015 runway, opulence met glam with his signature thigh-high slits and unprecedented splendor.
Lush furs, provocative leather, ’70s sex appeal, and splashes of femme flounces were presented in a rich, Baroque color palette met with pops of pastel. The juxtaposition comes from Altuzarra’s varying inspiration of 18th-century dandies, Gloria Vanderbilt and Truman Capote’s “Swans,” visible in his pairing of high Edwardian collars with daring high slits. Overall, an erotic romanticism is conveyed throughout the collection that jumps from slinky gowns to sheer lace frocks.
There’s no doubt that the Altuzarra girl is powerful, dynamic and indulges in finer things in life.
