We can usually count on Versace Atelier for structured sexiness in the form of red carpet worthy minimalist gowns with strategically placed daring cut outs. This couture season Donatella gave us a very soft romantic collection reminiscent of a futuristic Coachella garden nymph with frayed silk chiffon, and sheer detailing.

Think, upscale earth child.

Models floated down the runway of over 26,000 orchids underneath glass panels in hues of purple and pink, and yellow with long loose beach wave hair topped with delicate flower crowns. Maxi dresses in soft fabrications were delicately frayed at every turn. From a multi tiered gown topped with sheer corseting, to bell sleeves, to a lightly blush colored mini dress with a deep v neck. There wasn’t a hem line devoid of fraying.

Exposed boning cut outs were present throughout the collection to give us the sex appeal we know and love from Versace. And of course Donatella could never completely abandon the edge factor as some gowns included chain mail detailing at the bodice.

Never one to skimp on color, Donatella’s color palette of pinks, purples, blues, orange, yellow and olive green were balanced with modest blushes and blacks while beautiful floral patterns flowed throughout the collection.

Patent leather platform go-go boots anchored each piece giving a futuristic feel to these 60’s festival inspired looks.

Will we see this at 2016 festivals? Probably not. But for the hippie-loving celebrity, these are go-to for award season.
