I’ve been dealing with under eye bags for as long as I can remember and searching for viable solutions even longer. Not even color correcting formulas and heavy concealers do the trick. Thankfully, I’ve just tested an innovative option that actually works: Peter Thomas Roth’s Cucumber Detox Eye De-Puffing Eye Cubes.
They contain a blend of cucumber extract, aloe, green tea, caffeine and hydrochloric acid to soothe and detoxify delicate skin around the eye area, helping to diminish the look of fatigue and dark circles. It’s highly recommended for all skin types and of course– anyone with dark circles and under eye puffiness.
What make this treatment different than other products is its liquid to solid formula. I know this sounds weird, but the eye cubes are to be used frozen because the coldness helps to constrict blood vessels and reduce puffiness and swelling. The fool-proof product is easy to use and doesn’t require a lengthy regimen; a huge plus for me!
Each packages comes with 6 cubes and 6 gauze pouches. You only need to use one cube for both eyes. To use the product, open the frozen eye cube and place it into the gauze pouch. You’ll want to do this quickly, because I noticed that the warmth of my fingertips began melting the product. Next, gently message the cube under your eye alternating between each eye every 10 to 15 seconds for up to 3 minutes.
I instantly noticed the products soothing properties as the cold formula felt great against my skin. After massaging the ice cubes onto my skin until the product was completely dissolved, I studied my face for results. While the product didn’t help to eliminate my under eye bags completely, it did help to reduce their appearance:
We have just one complaint; about a minute in of massaging the formula under my eye, the product started to drip heavily. Be sure to use before getting dressed so it doesn’t leak onto you OOTD. It’s also a good idea to keep your mouth closed because it dripped there, too (yuck).
If you don’t have deep set under eyes, the cubes may work wonders for you. However, if they’re deep enough to store groceries, use in combination with an under eye concealer. You can grab your own at Sephora for $50.
