Icon Salutes Icon: Beyoncé Pens Open Letter To Michelle Obama Via Tumblr

If you ask women of any age who they look up to for inspiration, chances are First Lady Michelle Obama and Beyoncé will rank somewhere on the list. But even world stage icons have role models, just like the rest of us. Beyoncé took to her brand new Tumblr to pen a letter to Michelle Obama, praising her for being such a wonderful wife, mother, professional, and First Lady.  The admiration is surely mutual. The two joined forces for the First Lady’s “Let’s Move!” Campaign, that fostered the importance of exercise and healthy eating habits for children across the country.

Bey has been quite candid since the birth of her first child, Blue Ivy, and her Tumblr feels like her personal journey into womanhood. She’s revealing one grounded multifaceted woman. The letter is another very sweet moment for Honey Bey.

       Yeah… Extreme f a m e thirst! Given her and Michelle’s working relationship Beyonce could have sent that privately. This is nothing more than an attempt to show Kim and Kanye that neither one of them are on her level.

      But that’s something we all knew…

        Yeah, she could have. And, on a side note, not everyone who speaks out against looking at/ hearing about Beyonce/ Jay-Z/ Blue Ivy and anyone else Beyonce-related all the time is hating on her. We’re just SICK OF LOOKING AT HER behind. There is a such thing as over-exposure. Her so-called intimate moments look hella staged. Or, maybe she’s just so freakin’ over-exposed that everything she does looks staged, even when she’s not trying or meaning for it to be. I believe she has a beautiful voice and is very talented, I’ve thought so since 1997. As time goes on, however, I’ve started to believe she’s become a complete megalomaniac. Every black woman in America (and beyond) is proud of Michelle Obama. Does it mean more coming from Beyonce?

    Beyonce is getting on my nerves.  She’s needs to just STOP.  This letter has no meaning.  It wasn’t given directly to Michele Obama or even sent to her certified mail as a personal heartfealt endearment.  Just another public notice saying, “hey everybody in the whole world, look it’s me Beyonce writing a letter to Michele Obama.  Look at me.  I just want to make sure you know about it.”  That letter holds about as much importance as a bag of stale chips.

    On a A section of Bey’s website she writes what inspires her(BeyInspired). She also wrote a letter to Sade but no one put that on their websites. The First Lady inspires me too. I don’t see the probolem.

    This is what I do not get…at first so many people were hating on her because she was too private and now people are hating on her because she has finally began to open up and let us into her space.  I just do not understand it.  If you do not like or care for Bey then stop reading  and commenting but apparently some people can’t resist what is being said about her.

    GO BEY…to one native Houstonian from another one!  Continue to do you Bey and I wish you much success!

      She was never private. Private people are never seen constantly smiling for the paps’ millions of cameras, every. single. day. Just because she used the word ‘private’ doesn’t mean she actual is or ever was.

        True, she was never private; she relishes in the attention; rather, she needs it to breathe. That is why she is opening up more now, and getting online. Interest in her has waned considerably, in the media and the streets, and she is severely panicked.

         I think she is…with her personal life. Smiling for the cameras has nothing to do with being private…..if the paps are all up in your face, what are you suppose to do? Snap off or smile? I would choose to smile.

    She’s posted plenty of open letters to a various amount of artists, but she’s attention hungry for posting about the FLOTUS. Guess I’m one too huh?

    I love that she did this, she’s standing for something other than ridiculous reality shows and unnecessary drama to gain attention. We all of the first lady, why is it a crime for her to show that?

    This girl really cannot win. She’s an icon and such a musical talent and still people find any reason to hate her. She’s done nothing to you; stop hating just for the sake of hating.

    And for the love of God, PLEASE stop commenting on posts about her. If you really hated her, you wouldn’t feed into the media about her now would you?
