For a designer who has a strong footing when it comes to animal rights, Stella McCartney still doesn’t fail to impress when sending down a runway collection made for the cold months. This year McCartney launched two innovative substitutes to leather and down; skinless-skinned jackets and wadding-padded puffer coats cascaded down the catwalk, and no one batted an eyelid.
The animal connotations didn’t stop there. In between the designers color palette of pewter, marle, amber, navy, peach and white, boasted little embroidered and printed swans. A graceful range of fall clothes which were enhanced with elegant birds called for a second look. Dove grey, woolen trousers were shaken up with motifs of the bird all over them, as was a simple satin-slipper pink, bibbed blouse.
Stella McCartney sure knows how to please the crowd and stand up for what she believes in, and that is one type of woman, and designer we can get behind!
