As if creating standout shoe designs for women and kids isn’t enough, British designer, Sophia Webster has decided to expand her empire. Using the same imagination that’s helped make her mark in the fashion industry, Webster is finally tapping into handbags – and don’t worry, they’re just as cooky as you’d expect.
While most of us associate the daring designer with her J. Crew shoe collaborations, Webster’s plans of encompassing a full handbag line has turned into a full on spring collection. And to make matters even better, the line will be a part of the fashion industry’s newest trend – that is, the “see now, buy now” craze – rather than opting for it’s usual long build up.
Set to debut later this month, the collection embodies Webster’s definitive aesthetic: quirky, playful and super cool. Designs include classic bucket options, tote styles, word bubble clutches and more – pretty much anything you’d ever need to complete an epic street style look.

“I always knew that I wanted to be known for my bags as much as I’m known for my shoes,” Webster told WWD. “At the beginning it was basically just me, so I decided to focus on the shoes. Now that I have a team in place, I can make sure that the line is produced properly.”
And according to the online publication, the accessories designer will also be celebrating another accomplishment come April: the opening of her first boutique, located on Mount Street (one of London’s prime retail locations). The brick-and-motor will be joined by fashion names like Christopher, Kane, Simone Rocha and Roksanda Ilincic, becoming home to the brand’s spring 2016 range of handbags and footwear.
Retailers like Saks Fifth Avenue, Net-A-Porter, Matchesfashion.com and Selfridges are among the stores planning to stock the collection, with prices ranging between $426 to $994.
