The older I’ve gotten, the more I appreciate a good cup of coffee. I’m definitely not one of those people who would opt for an IV of coffee every morning, if they could. But I like a small cup with skim milk and a little sugar (read: a lot of sugar).
Nonetheless, I subscribe to the coffee life because it’s a reliable source of energy.
So when I opted to try Frank Body’s Peppermint Coffee Scrub, I was pretty optimistic. The Australian brand creates natural, vegan body scrubs that target cellulite, stretch marks, acne, psoriasis, eczema and scarring -and they claim that all you have to do is rub 3-4 handfuls all over your bod, focusing on problem areas.
Already a fan of all things peppermint, I went with this particular scrub for its healing properties. Their peppermint scrub has astringent properties that reduce irritation with anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that also target muscle pain.
So, I jumped into the shower and got to scrubbing. And here are two things I took away from the experience.
One: It immediately smooths out skin, almost leaving a thin layer of moisture. Two: It gives a instant energy boost— but feels more aromatic in energy transfer than drinking a cup of coffee.
The only con would be that it left granules of coffee all over my shower. So I would definitely recommend bringing this to your gym shower, for a post-workout pickup.
Overall Frank Body is good stuff. I have their full range of scrubs, which I plan to use throughout the summer— but I’m sure it’s a great source of moisture in the colder months as well.
