Carry Ons: How To Travel Without Checking A Bag

Bag Check! How to Travel With Just Carry Ons

Pack As Late As Possible

Getting packed early is tempting, especially if you’re just doing a carry ons. But I like to do it no more than a day or before I leave, although most of what I packed I won’t need.  It gives me one last chance to go over everything and make any last minute tweaks and peace of mind that I have everything I need as well as from constantly adding unnecessary things that come to mind. Plus it doesn’t hurt to know exactly where everything is in your bag.

Frequent flying meant being flagged for security screens. If I wasn’t taken into some back room, a TSA agent would go through my bag right there on the conveyer belt. By law they can’t put the things back in your bag. You have to do it. If you’ve carefully packed a compact bag knowing how you had it arranged will help you get it back in quickly.

Having a good idea of where everything is can help you withstand long flight delays in the airport as well as make it easy to  grab one or two things you may want to keep close in the event overhead bins near your seat that are filled before you board too.
