16 TV Characters We Wanted To Be Growing Up (Don’t Front, You Know You Wanted to Be Them Too!)

We don’t know about you guys, but Kerry Washingtons Scandal character, Olivia Pope, has us feeling nostalgic about all of the characters we wanted to be when we were growing up. Did you want to live at the Banks residence and hang with Will Smith, have a long lost twin like Tia and Tamera, or slay vampires like Buffy?

Check out 16 TV characters we just adore.

Claire, Rudy and Denise Huxtable

Claire was the best mom on TV, Rudy was the cutest, and Denise was always so hip.

Punky Brewster

A personal favorite, Punky Brewster inspired our love for all things denim. Couple that with her mixed family in bustling NYC, and she’s a bright childhood memory for ’80s babies.

Smart, fast-talking Blossom was a fave for the bookworm girls growing up. And who didn’t rock a Blossom hat back in the day?

Doogie Howser

Doogie is the only male to crack our list, and for very good reason. For once, a kid got to be in charge!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer

Buffy was a force with her wooden spear, and we loved watching her romance with Angel.

Ashley Banks

With the coolest big cousin on the planet, Ashley Banks had it made!

Laura Winslow

When Stefan Urkelle came out of that machine looking all dapper and fine, every girl wanted to be Laura Winslow.

Another girl who kicked major butt, Xena was our superwoman.

Tia and Tamera

Imagine finding your long lost twin, and all the trouble you could get into!

Kelly Kapowski and Lisa Turtle

Kelly was the head cheerleader, and Lisa had the flyest clothes on Saturday morning television. We loved them both.

Olivia Pope

So Olivia Pope is new to our world, but we can’t get enough of her. From her power suits to her executive moves, the Scandal character is a fierce woman we can’t help but admire.

Punky Poweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer! I loved me some PB when I was a kid. Matter of fact, I went as her this past Halloween.

    • Back Then

      I always dressed like
Punky Brewster in Elementary. Always had the mix matched chucks and socks on, pig tale (bunds) …I thought she was fresh to death back then, they used to  call me Punky

    • Jimmywoo
