Just for accuracy purposes- Dorothy Dandridge was not the first African-American actress nominated for an Oscar. That was Hattie McDaniel-who won by the way- for Gone With the Wind in 1939.

Hattie McDaniel won for best supporting actress. Dandridge was the first black woman nominated for best actress.

No Cher! this list is null and void

Jackie Kennedy & Grace Kelly, and Audrey. Michelle doesn’t belong on this list.

Hallie Barry? Jennifer Lopez? Are you kidding or blind? And, how is Audrey Hepburn or Jackie O NOT on the list? If you want to find a modern icon, look to Kate Middleton.
