Naomi Campbell Outraged Over Disrespectful & Racist Cadbury Ad

“Move over Naomi, there’s a new diva in town,” is how Cadbury opted to promote their new Bliss chocolate bar, poking fun at Catwalk Queen, Naomi Campbell’s, rich skin color. The supermodel is furious. Campbell told the Independent,  ”I am shocked. It’s upsetting to be described as chocolate, not just for me, but for all black women and black people. I do not find any humor in this. It’s insulting and hurtful.”

The ad features an image of the candy propped on a tower of sparkling diamonds with Naomi’s name largely printed above the bar. Social rights groups across the globe are in support of Naomi’s opposition of the offensive ad.  In the  UK. Operation Black Vote called for a boycott of all Cadbury products.  Of course the Kraft owned brand argues the intent wasn’t to offend Naomi with their”light-hearted, socially pretentious campaign.”  All billboards featuring the image have been taken down.

Good grief!!! Naomi Campbell needs to get over herself, but quick. She should be happy that a cell phone company didn't use the slogan "…so light even Naomi Campbell could throw this one…". Has everyone forgotten how to laugh?

    1. Chocolate is not a color.
    2. Naomi Campbell is a fabulous and one of very few models representing African American beauty of such a deep skin tone.
    3. Don't diminish her brand and all of her work to some f*cking candy. I see how people wouldn't take offense. But when you really think about it, it is disrespectful

As a foreigner studying in an Eastern European country, I get called "chocolate" a lot, especially by guys on the street, so yes, it is offensive. But what's even more annoying is that I'm very light in complexion.

I'd really love to see a commercial, any commercial, that goes something like "…this milk is so creamy, move over (insert name of creamy white actress)…" or "…our carrots are so vibrant, move over (insert name of red head actress)…" or "…our lemons are so intense, move over (insert name of Asian actress)…"
