7 Double Duty Beauty Items (Milk of Magnesia as Face Primer, Lipstick as Creme Blush & More!)

Wouldn't it be great to get some serious mileage out of your severely modest makeup stash? We certainly think so—imagine opening your cosmetic bag and getting a full face done with just a few products. Hey, it's possible! So to help you get your multitasking beauty on, here's seven double duty beauty items you need in your life.

1. Eyeshadow as Blush

Remember those bold orange and pink shadows you bought that you swore you were going to break out for a "runway-inspired" look? Break those babies out and use them as blush! Two quick rouge tips you should know: 1. the darker your skintone, the brighter the blush (don't be scared) and 2. if you overdo the blush, that's nothing a dusting of powder can't tone down.

2. Lipstick as Creme Blush

Matching cheek and lip colors are all the rage! If you have a vividly hued creamy lipstick already in your vanity, you're half-way there! Dab a little of the lipstick on your cheeks and either blend with your fingers or grab a blush brush. Set with powder.

3. Eyeshadow as Liner

Want to indulge on the colored liner trend without committing to another piece of makeup? No problem—just grab an eyeliner brush, glide it across your favorite shadow, mist a little water on the brush and voilà! You've got yourself some eyeliner.

4. Pigments

Though it can take some getting used to for the clumsy set, pigments are a must for multitasking beauty. These highly concentrated loose powders perform overtime by moonlighting as eyeshadow, liner, blush, higlighter, bronzer, body shimmer, and even lip color depending on the hue. We like Make Up For Ever Star Powder and MAC Pigment—they both pack a punch of color and a container will last you forever and a day.

5. Toothpaste to Fight a Pesky Pimple

This has been used for ages since toothpaste can quickly dry up a zit in an emergency. But before you go around sporting Crest-face, this isn't meant for long-term treatment.

6. Milk of Magnesia as Face Primer

We haven't tried slathering liquid antacid on our faces, but enough of our favorite makeup gurus on Youtube swear by it that we had to add it to the list. If just for a one-time in-a-bind sort of thing because we hear some ladies have experienced breakouts from long-term use.
